Painting eyes on miniatures can be challenging, but it’s an essential part
of bringing your miniatures to life. Eyes are the focal point of a miniature’s
face, and getting them right can make a significant difference in the overall
appearance of the model. In this article, we’ll discuss some tips and tricks
for painting eyes on miniatures.

1. Don’t, it’s really hard  (Just kidding)

2.Start
with a Base Coat: Applying a base coat to the miniature’s face is essential for
painting eyes. Use a light color, such as beige or tan, to create a base coat.
Apply the base coat evenly and allow it to dry completely.

3.Use
a Small Brush: Painting eyes requires a steady hand and a small brush. Use a
size 00 or 0 brush to paint the eyes. Take your time and be patient.

4.Paint
the Iris: Use a dark color, such as brown or blue, to paint the iris. Use the
tip of the brush to paint a small dot in the center of the eye. Then, use small
strokes to paint the iris around the dot. Don’t worry if it’s not perfect at
first. You can always clean up mistakes later.

5.Paint
the Pupil: Use a small dot of black paint to paint the pupil in the center of
the iris. The pupil should be smaller than the iris, and it should be slightly
off-center to give the eye a natural look.

6.Add
Highlights: Use a small brush and a light color, such as white or yellow, to
paint highlights on the eye. Paint a small dot of white or yellow in the upper
left or right corner of the iris to create a highlight. This will give the eye
a realistic and lifelike appearance.

7.Clean
Up Mistakes: If you make a mistake while painting the eyes, don’t panic. Use a
small brush and some of the base coat paint to clean up any mistakes or
smudges.

In conclusion, painting eyes on miniatures can be challenging, but with the
right techniques and practice, you can achieve a realistic and lifelike result.
Start with a base coat, use a small brush, paint the iris and pupil, add
highlights, and clean up mistakes. With practice and patience, you can create
stunning miniatures with lifelike eyes that will stand out on the tabletop.
