It’s Wednesday folks, so that can only mean one thing… yep, you still don’t have a clue what day it is. More importantly, it also means it’s time for our weekly community round-up!
These are the the interesting hobby projects that have caught our eye over the past week. And by that we actually mean – these are the interesting hobby projects that have caught our eye over the past week AND remembered to save when we saw them.
If you’re still looking for more community action with a Kings of War twist, then make sure you catch Steve Hildrew’s Friday round-up on the Death by Dragons YouTube channel. In fact, let’s link to his one last Friday, sure it’s fantastic like all his other ones… oh, there isn’t one. Turns out he couldn’t be bothered last week. So let’s hope he pulls his finger out this week.
Anyway, let’s crack on with our virtual tour around the social media groups this week.
First Brad Jimenez is continuing to update his Abyssal Dwarf army and this week added some Decimators. We’ve previously interviewed Brad about the project and you can read that here.
Next up and Michael Pearcy has finished this suitably disgusting Nightstalker Terror. We really like the subtle, fleshy colours on this one. Nice work Michael!
Now, you may be looking at this and thinking “that’s not a Mantic model”. Well, you would be WRONG! Si Brand has done some stellar work converting a Goblin Slasher into a Mutant Rat Fiend. Just shows what can be done with a little imagination and (quite a lot of) sculpting talent.
Moving onto Deadzone now and we really like Chriso Mvv’s Enforcer Peacekeepers. The red bases really help the crisp, white Peacekeepers pop. The are actually based on the planet Acreon from the First Strike novel, which is still free to download, by the way.
Over to The Walking Dead and Andrew Cuncliffe’s stylish Walkers for All Out War are a great example that a consistent paint scheme can really help to bring a group of models together. The monochrome finish with a splash of blood is very cool.
Meanwhile Rob Gan has gone for an excellent comic-style approach with his monochrome survivors. It looks like these have jumped straight from the comics and onto the tabletop.
Meanwhile at Mantic towers, Jonny continues his obscure Shadowhulk conversion fetish with two new entries. The middle one has a real Cthulhu vibe to it.
Finally Rob’s continuing to add to his goblins (approaching 4,000 points now) with this mounted Wiz. How is he managing to steal all these new releases from work when he’s not even in the office?! Answers on a postcard, please.
Remember, keep tagging us on social media to make sure we don’t miss your new hobby projects.
